I have another Blogs with different topics of my interest (transport, photography, maps, existencialism) and, in that way, I feel so happy with this homework. The idea of write about different topics in English was very nice for me, I could write about other things different from what I used to.

I am thinking of use some post from here and publish it in Spanish, with more details and developing the idea. Now, I have two important Blog projects for the next years.

Political Economy and Theater!

Hi everyone! My teacher ask me to write a post about my favourite subject in this term. Well, I am not good lying so... I don't like so much any subject of this semester. Curiously, the two subjects that I loved in the past year were Political Economy and Theater.

I always like to study about the society and the economy (I would like to study sociology or economy, but well, I am here and I like it!), so Political Economy was so wonderful for me. I like to analyze the impact of economy in the culture, the personal relationships and the policy. In the course, I learn about the economic transformations of Chile and its consequences. I liked the subject because it had a qualitative perspective and the teacher was so intelligent and clear to explain.

Theater was a personal challenge. I like to write in my free times and I recognize that drama was the most difficult genre to write. So I wanted to learn about it. I wanted to prove myself trying to act and play. I am a serious and low profile person, so this subject helps me to see the life with other perspective. We share personal stories and we made a beautiful group. I loved it and I was much amused. In the final exam, we participated in a short scene of Chilean theater. I was a clown... imagine me! A serious person acting like a clown, a little boy that wanted to learn about clowns. I loved it! And our teacher was so loving and enforced.

Theater group and the teacher after the final exam.
I hope to have another subjects like these in the next semesters. Have a nice week!

Pokemon World!

Hi everybody! I will post about my favourite childhood game and TV serie: Pokemon!

I recognize that I am not a fan of animes and TV series, I watched a few of animes in my childhood and another American cartoons like Hey Arnold!, Codename: Kids Next Door, and others. Anyway, the only serie that I loved and the only games that I liked so much were Pokemon series and games.

Me playing Pokemon Yellow game

First, I loved the serie because I am fascinated with the proposal of the existence of many special criatures (151 Pokemon in the beginning) that can evolve and have different powers, and the serie was wonderful in their battles and morals. I loved the guide and comprehend that all Pokemon have strengths and weaknesses.
I like the story and the characters, although I don't identify with either.

Second, I loved the games because it's a new universe with a map, cities and the criatures! I could have my own Pokemon, I could train them and teachs the techniques that I like for them! I studied the strengths and weaknesses to have the best Pokemon ever with attacks to defeat everyone!

I post you one episode of Pokemon's first season in my native language. Oh! Childhood... I will go to play now, goodbye!

A photograph that I love!

Hi everybody! Well, my teacher ask me to post about a photograph that I like so much, but as you can read in another posts, I love photograph and I have so many photos... so, it's difficult to choose one.

I am very lucky to have so many photos about my family, my girlfriend, my friends, journeys and the daily life in the city. I started to want to take photos surfing the Internet and knowing Fotolog pages (uuh! I think it's so old now), especifically, seeing photos about the subway. Oh! How I wanted to take my own photos!!!!

The first time I used an old analog camera of my mom. I don't have zoom, I can't correct or repeat photos because the roll had only 24 or 36 photos. My photos weren't great, but I did it with so much love. My mom bought a super basic digital camera that had 1 megapixel. I continued taking photos to the subway.

And, when I turned 15 years old, my birthday's present was a digital camera that I chosen. I studied all the options of digital cameras and I decided for a Kodak camera. I loved it and I was really happy with it, I was learning about photograph and experiencing with types of photograph.

I take the photo. This photo shows an Alstom NS93 train in Tobalaba station. I loved this shot because it's one of the best shots that I have taken and the train had the Santiago Metro logo (hey! now in that place these trains have a number). It was taken on May 23, 2007, in the morning after to go to school. I sit down in the platform and take it.

I hope you liked this post! Have a nice week!

Santiago, the city where I live

Hi! I will talk about the city where I live, Santiago. Well, I think that it's a beautiful city, above all in winter, how I love to see the city with the snowy mountains!

Santiago is the main city and capital of Chile. My country is ubicated in the south of South America. The founders were Spanish Conquistadors in 1541. Inicially, the city was founded as crossing point, to rest for the long travel from Peru and stock up on. Concepcion, another city in the south of the country, was the capital, but due to the fire and repeated attacks from Mapuche, the Spanish Conquistadors prefer to establish the capital city in Santiago.

Actually, Santiago has 5.428.590 inhabitants. I think that people from Santiago have low self-esteeme. I am happy living in this city and I usually thinks that it's a beautiful city, but people who live here usually think that Santiago is disordered, ugly, monotonous. Maybe, their lifes are this way, in spite of wonderful economic rates, there are social and cultural problems that affect to many people (long times of travel, tiredness for the work, little time for share with their families...).

I want to be happy in my future too, I want to enjoy my city (or another place where I would live) and to show its beauty. I will share with you some of my photos of Santiago.

My love for digital cameras!

Good morning! I want to talk about my favourite piece of technology. I always think that I am like an old man because I don't like cellphones or smartphones, I really don't know about how to use its! (Well, I have a basic cellphone that I use only for send and receive messages...and I don't want to change it).

Technology is a broad concept, in that sense I would talk about subway, trains and everything that are means of transport but...no. I want to post about digital photo cameras. When I save money, one of the few things in which I could spend it is a digital camera.

The camera I want to buy! Photo by Sam Preston.
When I was a teenager, I entertain myself seeing photos about transport and landscapes. So, one of my dreams was to take my own photos about it and try to be the best photographer of this subject! (It's sound like Pokemon hahahaha).

Sorry if I bore you with my photos... but, hey! I love to do it and I want to transmite this love! I begun to achieve my dream when I was 13. I use an analogic camera and my photos are really bad (I am very selfcritical) but I loved it. With more experience and best cameras, I evolutioned and my photos progressed.

Now, I like to take photos about transport, but also I like other subjects. Landscapes, cityscapes, conceptual and artistic photos. Try to say something with it! Try to emit a message that make happy to other people. People also remember good memories when see photos, or they experiments sweet emotions when they see something important or quotidian in their lifes.

Digital cameras are really useful, although we could think that it isn't. With its big memories capacity (more than 36 photos) and the possibility of upload to the PC, you can save money and take more photos! Photographies has not only a recreational purpose, it is used to preserve our memories and transmit our feelings. When you see old photos, you remember vacations, journeys, good days, stories... I think that it is more useful, I could use it to be more happy.

And well... it is useful to have good moments and to do portraits of the people you love.

Love to wheels!

I like go out and take photos of subway, trains and buses. Well, I take photos to landscapes, cityscapes, streets and other subjects but... I want to write about my photos of public transport.

People ask me frecuently: why? why I take photos of it? why I have this "passion"? I really don't know, I have theories and usually I say something like: "in my childhood, my dad show me the trains or the subway", other people knows a version that said: "With the arrive of Internet, I could see photos about subway and I want to take my own photos and show it to the people", some people thinks that I like it because I did a guide with the services of Transantiago. Each version is ok! There is not an one explanation!

Years ago, I really didn't like the question... there are people that like cars, soccer, artist; for me is the same, only changes the subject! But well, people are curious! In other way, I like their curiosity and I feel good when they ask me to tell my story. Specially, when people remember me through photos, public transport or send me messages with congratulations or nice comments!

It's a photo of Neptune workshops. Metro de Santiago organized a visit on 2010. When I studied at a school located in the downtown, everyday I used the subway for the travel and I loved it! My dad said that I am the only person that have a real smile in the journey. My real dream was to be the best photographer of subway and my (I believe impossible) other dream was to know the workshops. It is a dream fulfilled.

Thank you for read!

Elton Mayo

Hi! It's another good day on Earth now! Well, do you know that I study Public Administration? I will talk about Elton Mayo, a person that had a really good influence in my career and the industry.

He was an Australian doctor, sociologist and psicologist (a really complete man eh!). Why is he so important? In these times, people (administrators) thinks that the only important variable of production was time, so they trying to save time, for this reason and according to the specialization of work, each person has only one little thing to do in his work and this work was repeated mechanically.

Elton Mayo did experiments with people, searching for other variables of production. He discovered the motivation, the influence of light and the importance of the breaks at work although the most important thing was the notion of the relevance of good social relations at the work.

The next post... hahahaha I will talk about something I like so much, it will be hard to choose!

My favourite band: U2

Well, the teacher ask to me to post about my favourite band. I think that I don't have one, because I only like certain songs from artists and bands, but I am not a real fan. Hardly I would think to pay to see one, I prefer to listen them at Youtube. Thinking a lot, I could put U2, Travis and, maybe, Coldplay. But for this post, I choose U2.

U2 are a band from Ireland. Searching on Internet (I am a bad fan eh, I really don't know the names of the integrants) I could knew that exists other important names aside from Bono, the vocalist. They are The Edge (guitar), Adam Clayton (bass guitar) and Larry Mullen Jr (percussion).

I am surprised to read that they formed at school, I am really happy that they could perform their dreams. The reason why I like and choose is because they have good songs, I feel more energetic when I listen them and they have Christian roots. I will let you one of my favourite songs, I interpret the place that they sing as the Kingdom of Heaven, and also as an intimate world between two people. It's really beautiful.

If someday (surely) I die, I want that people who love me remember me with this song.

Greetings!

Mini Autobiography

Hello!! My name is Ariel Cruz.

I was born in Santiago, in the autumn of 1992. I have a nice childhood. I live with my parents and my little sister. I studied at Colegio Ensenada and La Salle Institute in my primary education. Subsequently I studied at National Institute in my secundary school.

In that stage of my life, I discovered some of my actually hobbies like the public transport, amateur photography, writing; I take advantage of study at downtown and I travel through the city.

Firstly, I study History at University of Chile, but I presented vocational problems and I prefer to renounce. The following year, I used the last PSU score for study Public Administration at the same university. Actually, I am second year student and I have good friend and good scores.
